Perrin Anto Jones.
Avid Creative Coder.
Tech nerd that has fallen in love with everything design.
Using HTML/CSS, d3.js, and python, I parsed over 4 million satellite data points from NASA's Fire Information for Resource Management System (FIRMS) into an interactive visualization of bushfire history. Paired with climate data, I was able to lead readers through possible factors related to global warming that's causing a rise in recent bushfire activity.
Longest Path Design
For my graduate evolutionary computation & design automation course, I created a genetic algorithm in Java to efficiently design the longest path between a set of coordinates. I exported the results and turned them into creative coding art pieces critiquing the beauty of inefficiency.
To better advertise and archive our theatre work, I crafted a website for Columbia Musical Theatre Society using bootstrap framework and HTML/CSS. Since the launch, all our shows have been sold out and we increased sign ups to our newsletter by 220%.
While working as a software engineer at Valogix, I designed a server status internal page in HTML/CSS + JS to display the results of daily automated SQL server tests that I built in Python. Anyone in the company could go to the page and check if all our clients' servers were healthy and running, along with the history log of test results. If a server test returned with any errors, the software engineers would recieve a text message and email with parsed details about the server error.
